  8. Here's a freeware XCMD for anyone who's interested.  It's called
  9. setFileLock and does exactly what it says: will lock or unlock
  10. a specified file.
  11.  
  12. The form is:   setFileLock <fileName>, lock|unlock
  13.  
  14. where <fileName> is a full pathname.  "True" and "false" will work
  15. in place of "lock" and "unlock", respectively.
  16.  
  17. Errors are reported both in "the result" and in a global called
  18. gXCMDError.
